Start with fresh living buds. Cut them down and freeze immediately. Agitate frozen buds on / off cycles with clean cold water & ice using a sterile vessel by hand or via automation. Resin sinks in water and can be filtered by head size & quality using a series of silk / nylon filter bags. Resin is removed into collection trays and placed in a freeze dryer to gently remove excess water and preserve terpenes. Dried resin glands are separated by quality and placed into filter bags in preparation for expressing oil from the heads. Different rosin bags can be used to filtered out the resin glands “skins” from the oils (cannabinoids, terpenoids, and flavonoids). The packed resin glands are placed in a press that uses low heat and controlled pressure over X time to express the oils from within the resin gland heads. The oil on the paper is fresh press live hash rosin. It’s called “live” because the starting biomass was harvested and flash frozen when the plant was still “alive”. It the plant was already cured it would not be Live Hash Rosin but rather just Hash Rosin. If one jars up that Live Hash Rosin it will naturally homogenize into a different consistency… I’ll save that for another post.
